Whisked eggs.Whisked eggs.

Preheat your over to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Spray your baking dish with cooking spray being careful to coat the sides, too.

Crack your eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper into a mixing bowl. Mix generously with a fork until combined. The more you mix, the fluffier your eggs will be.

Dice your red onions and spinach.

Mix in your diced red onion, feta cheese, and chopped spinach with your eggs. Once all of your ingredients are incorporated, pour them into your baking dish.

Bake your eggs for around 25 minutes or until the top starts to turn golden and brown.

Sausages cooking.Sausages cooking.

Place your sausages on a nonstick baking sheet and bake them for 5-10 minutes at 365 degrees F (190 degrees C).

You can also use bacon, ham, or any meat you please.

Remember: Have a separate timer for your eggs and your meat. While they can bake at the same temperature, they won’t bake for the same length of time.

Once you remove your sausage (or meat of choice) from the oven, place them to the side to cool.

Pro tip: You can also cook them on your stovetop if you want to cook them during the eggs!

English muffins.English muffins.

Once your eggs have finished cooking, turn your oven to broil. Allow it to heat up for at least 5 minutes.

Slice your English muffins in half and lay them with their inside-up on the baking sheet.

Broil them for 5-10 minutes, or until they reach desired toastiness.

Once you remove them from the oven, spread a thin layer of butter on each muffin.

Pro tip: Once your sausage has finished cooking, you can place it aside and use the same baking sheet for your English muffins. I’m all about minimizing the number of dishes you have to do at the end.

Sandwiches.Sandwiches.

While you’re preparing the individual parts of the breakfast sandwich, you’ll run into a few periods of downtime between baking and broiling. You can use that time to prepare your sandwich wrappers!

Start by cutting your parchment paper into roughly 8×8 inch squares. Since these don’t have to be precise, you can eyeball the size.

Dampen paper towels by running them underwater and ringing excess water from them once they’re completely saturated.

Lay one sheet of parchment paper down before layering it with one sheet of paper towel.

Repeat this six times.

English muffin variation.English muffin variation.

Now that you have everything cooked, you’re ready to assemble your sandwiches.

Carefully remove your egg from the pan and slice it into 6 squares, creating little egg patties.

On one side of your English muffin, set down your sliced cheese, one egg patty, and your sausage. Top with the other side of your English muffin.

Another breakfast sandwich.Another breakfast sandwich.

Wrap your sandwiches first in the damp paper towel. Then wrap the parchment around the paper towel. Repeat this until each sandwich is individually wrapped before you store them in an airtight container.

These will keep up to one month in the freezer, but we both know they won’t last that long!

Breakfast sandwiches.Breakfast sandwiches.

When you’re ready to enjoy your creation, remove one sandwich from the freezer and remove the parchment paper, leaving the paper towel on.

On a microwave safe plate, microwave your sandwich on high for 2-3 minutes. Allow the sandwich to cool 1 minute before enjoying!

Apps are one of the biggest culprits for storage usage on iOS devices. Because apps tend to increase in size as they gather more and more data on your iPhone over time, iPhone user’s most used apps will tend to take up the most space, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of apps on their iOS devices that aren’t taking up unecessary space.

There are many apps, both built-in and third-party, that take up large amounts of space on iOS user’s devices. Luckily, it’s easy to offload apps to clear up storage space on an iOS device or prevent future storage issues. In fact, there are three ways to offload unecessary apps on an iOS device.

In this guide, I show you how to offload apps on your iPhone, or other iOS devices, three ways. Let’s get started!

Note: Offloading and deleting apps are two different processes with different results. By offloading an app iOS users can avoid losing all their app data. If you want to know how to delete an app on an iOS device, you can use this guide.

Automatically Offload AppsAutomatically Offload Apps

Automatically offloading apps is the easiest way to offload apps on your iOS product. However, it comes with a few setbacks. For example, since the iPhone or other iOS product is offloading apps automatically, it may offload apps you don’t want it to offload. Though it offloads apps you’re not regularly using, that doesn’t mean it’s offloading apps you want it to offload or that you no longer need.

Luckily, the apps are offloaded, not deleted, which removes all data from the device. Remember, offloading is a safer way to save space taken up by your apps versus deleting them.

How to automatically offload apps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click “App Store.”
  3. Turn on “offload unused apps” by clicking the toggle to the right hand side.

If you want to determine exactly how much space you will be saving when turning the automatic offloading feature on, consider trying the alternate option below.

Automatically Offload AppsAutomatically Offload Apps

Alternatively:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click “general.”
  3. Click “iPhone storage.” If you are using another iOS device, it may say “iPod storage” or “iPad storage.”
  4. Click “enable” next to offload unused apps.

You’ll notice that it shows you how many MB or GB will be saved with automatically offloading apps.

Manually Offload AppsManually Offload Apps

If you prefer not to automatically offload apps, you can choose to manually offload individual apps. By offloading individual apps, you can avoid your iPhone offloading apps you would prefer it didn’t. The only down side is that it may take more time since you have to offload each app that you wish to offload manually.

How to offload apps:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click “general.”
  3. Click “iPhone storage.” If you are using another iOS device, it may say “iPod storage” or “iPad storage.”
  4. Take a look at the apps. The list is in order from top to bottom based on use and size. So, the higher the app on the list, the more space it’s taking on your product, but the more often it’s being used.
  5. Click an app you would like to offload. Note the size of the app versus the size of the app data. The app data is the amount of data that will remain on your device.
  6. Click “offload app.”
  7. Click “offload app” again.

Continue these steps until you have enough storage on your iOS device to do all the things you love!

Do not disturb, often referred to as DND, is a handy feature that allows iPhone users to stay focused on their work, movie, or to-do lists by silencing all notifications on their iPhone while their screen is locked and the do not disturb feature is on or is scheduled. Do not disturb will send calls directly to voicemail so that callers are not interrupting an iPhone user’s workflow. All iMessages, text messages, or other notifications are simply silenced so that they aren’t alerted about them. However, once they open their iPhone, they will be able to see the missed calls, messages, and notifications. Do not disturb is easy to turn on, create a DND schedule, or turn off when iPhone users are ready to receive their notifications and calls. There are also other customizable settings within do not disturb, allowing iPhone users to make DND their own, so that is convenient for their particular uses. In this guide, I cover how to turn do not disturb on, how to create a do not disturb schedule, how to select and turn on specific DND settings, and how to turn on do not disturb while driving.

How to Delete Hidden App Data from Google Drive

It’s super easy to protect your Google Drive!

Whether we realize it or not, personal cybersecurity is one of the most important issues online. While most technology companies we interact with regularly have our security in mind, there are still things that users can do on their own to protect their information and files.

Google already has a robust digital security system in place, but there’s one area for improvement that most Google Drive users don’t know about. When you download and log into a mobile app or game using your Gmail account, you might be unknowingly giving that company access to your Google Drive. While apps for storage or writing do have a need for access, most don’t need to see your files.

This guide will go through the process of seeing what apps or games have access to your Google Drive and how to remove the hidden app data from Google Drive completely!

It’s obviously a passion of the developer, as they’ve asked the players for help writing the lore for it. How to Varnish a Painting

Varnish your painting so you can enjoy it long time!

So, you’ve finished a painting, and now you want to protect the fruit of your artistic labors.

Fair enough. Considering how long it takes to create the average painting, even if you are an under-average painter, protecting your work from damage should be the most important thing after, well, finishing your painting. Aside from tucking your canvas away from errant fingerprints, dust, pet debris, and miscellaneous particles, varnish is the best way to ensure your painting will last.

Since varnish can protect your art from a myriad of potentially damaging things, knowing how to varnish a painting is one of the most important skills you can learn as a painter.

But what is varnish? How does it protect a painting? How do I know which varnish to apply? What’s the best way to apply varnish to a painting?

We’ll answer all of these questions and more in the guide below, so grab your finished painting and let’s get started.

Varnish is a transparent liquid that, when dry, acts as a hard protective coat for your painting. Made from tree resins, varnishes can also affect the colors of your painting, making them more vibrant.

How varnishes differ

If you were to walk into your local art supply store and head for the section where painting varnishes are kept, you’d run into several varnish options. While each type is different, the most important thing you have to know when choosing a varnish is this: Varnishes are categorized according to their finish, which is the amount of light reflected by the varnish once dry.

Varnish Finish
Glossy Reflects a lot of light
Satin Reflects a little bit of light
Matte Reflects little light

Varnish works well with oil and acrylic paints only. When applied to gouache or watercolor, varnish can absorbed by the paper or the paint, affecting the quality of the finished product.

How to choose varish

Gloss finishes reflect light and create a smooth glass-like finish which matches well with simpler paintings (in my personal opinion). Matte or satin finishes, on the other hand, won’t reflect light, making them a good option for busier paintings with a lot of texture and patterns.

Ultimately, varnish is a personal choice and depends on how you want the finish version to look. Don’t be afraid to play around on a practice canvas to see which finish you like best.

Isolation coat.Isolation coat.

If you apply a varnish and find that you don’t like the finish, don’t worry! You can remove it, but you need to paint on what’s called an isolation coat before the varnish.

An isolation coat is an additional layer that protects the varnish from being absorbed by the paint, allowing it to be removed at a later date if that is your wish.

If you’re a hobby artist (like myself), you don’t have to worry about using an isolation coat. Instead, you can apply the varnish directly to the painting.

Interesting in investing in an isolation coat? Try the Golden Artist Isolation Coat.

How to use an isolation coat

  • If you decide to use an isolation coat, apply it directly to the painting and wait for it to dry. It should take anywhere from 10–30 minutes.
  • Once it’s dry, apply a thin layer of your varnish and wait for it to dry.

Boom. You have a protected painting that’s ready for varnish.

Flat paint brush.Flat paint brush.

As a painter, amateur or otherwise, you’ll likely have a collection of brushes, but it’s important to keep your varnishing brush separate from your normal paintbrushes. When varnish mixes with wet paint left on a brush, the diluted mixture can smear across the canvas. Keeping a brush specifically for varnish is a great way to keep this from happening.

But what kind of brush works best?

Most brush manufacturers and brands sell brushes specifically for varnish, but any wide flat brush like the Royal Brush Golden Taklon Paint Brushes will work well.**

Acrylic paints are sneaky. Even dry, acrylic paints are a lot more pliable than oil paints, which means they have a softer exterior that makes it easier for dust and light debris to stick to the surface. Enter the protective coating capacity of varnish.

However, this softer surface can also make varnish removal tricky. If you’re even the slightest bit doubtful about your choice of varnish, you’re going to want to use one of those handy-dandy isolation coats I described in the last step. Otherwise, you’re ready to varnish as you normally would.

Remember: Always apply varnish in a well-ventilated room.

How to varnish an acrylic painting

  • Pour your choice of varnish into a shallow bowl. I’m a huge fan of using small mason jars.
  • Lay your painting, artwork up on a protective surface. Varnish likes to go everywhere varnish isn’t welcome, but an old sheet, some newspaper, or a spare towel will help protect your workspace.
  • Dip your brush into the varnish.
  • Sweep the varnish lightly across the painting. Work side-to-side, slightly overlapping with each stroke to ensure an even coat.
  • Don’t re-varnish an area that you’ve already varnished. Dragging wet varnish through partially dry varnish can produce a cloudy finish.
  • Apply an additional layer of varnish once the varnish is dry.
  • Allow the varnish to dry completely.
Varnish.Varnish.

First thing’s first: You have to let your painting completely dry before you apply varnish.

If you’ve tuned into my How to Clean Your Brushes After Oil Painting guide, you’ll know that oil paint takes a long time to dry. Even thin paint, which dries a lot faster than thick layers of paint, can take a few days to dry.

Don’t be afraid to let your painting dry for a past the paint feeling dry to the touch. Remember: When varnish mixes with wet paint, it can carry the pigment across the canvas, distorting the painting. So, always wait until your paint is completely dry.

From here, it’s very much the same as above.

Remember: Always apply varnish in a well-ventilated room.
