First, you will want to find the family photo, screenshot, or other image that you plan on using as your Desktop Picture (otherwise known as your background or wallpaper).

If you have to search for an image online, save it to your desktop for easy access.

If you have a photo you want to use, consider doing the same, or making it easy to locate and right-click.

Once you have the image on your Mac, move to the next step.

Next, right-click the image, so that you can bring up the selection pane. On a MacBook, right-clicking is a two-finger click.

Scroll down to the bottom of the selection pane and click “Set as Desktop Picture.”

Now, you can play with how the image fits your screen. To adjust how the image fits the screen follow the steps below:

1. Click the Apple logo
2. Click System Preferences
3. Select “Desktop & Screen Saver”
4. Select the option you prefer

They are many options for how the image appears on the desktop, all of which change the aesthetic and location of the image on your Mac’s screen:

1. Fill Screen– This option will make the image fit the screen, often cutting off edges if the image is a different size or shape than your screen.
2. Fit to Screen– This option will allow the image to maintain its original size and shape, but you will have space on the screen that is filled by the color of your choosing. A small swatch will appear next to the “fit to screen: selection that you can click on, which will allow you to customize the color.
3. Stretch to Fill Screen– This option will stretch the image in the necessary directions in a way that may distort the features within that image.
4. Center– This option will center a smaller version of the image on your desktop. Like “fit to screen,” this option will allow you to customize the color that surrounds your image.
5. Tile– This option will create a tiled sequence of your image, so multiple of the same image fill the entire screen.

Try them out and see which one you like best! Once you have made your selection, you are free to enjoy your new background!

A podcast called Sacred Symbols run by Colin Moriarty, focused on PlayStation news, released some tentative insider information about the next installment of the Bioshock franchise. Bioshock 4 is supposedly being referred to as “Parkside” internally at 2K, and the Cloud Chamber Studios-developed game could even be seeing a 2022 release date. This sale on Epic might be seen as a hint towards this, as similar sales have occurred directly before the release or announcement of other major games, in order to whet the whistle of new and seasoned players alike.

Since the studio is still recruiting people to work on the title, a 2022 release date does seem pretty unlikely, but it’s also possible that things are moving along faster than they appear. It’s not a stretch to say that within a year, we could be looking at a new Bioshock release.

Right now, all we have is hearsay, but boy, it’s going to be exciting when it arrives. Until then, we can all enjoy a return to the classics with the remastered bundle currently available for free on Epic!

The Epic Games Store has been around for a while, the lesser-known alternative to Steam, the nearly-ubiquitous platform for game purchases since it launched in 2003. But, where Steam originally existed and launched to promote Valve games, Epic Games Store launched in 2018 and quickly rose to success on the Fortnite franchise. At the time of Epic’s launch, Steam took a dramatic 30% cut from the sales of video games through their platform! This hurt both game designers and users, and just wasn’t very nice. But the folks behind Epic realized something excellent: they could take a much lower cut and still have a profitable business. This led them to fast domination of the indie market, as small publishers flocked to the far better terms offered by Epic.

Mega Discounts

Epic Games Store offers some seriously incredible discounts on a regular basis, in addition to all the normal discounts one would expect on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the usual holidays. But the most exciting is their weekly free game or add-on, which simply harpoons all competitors.

When I first heard about this free game, I thought that can’t be real. They must only offer tiny indie games. Not at all, dear reader. Not. At. All. Epic frequently lists unbelievable A-lister games on their weekly deal, as well as sometimes offer two free games instead of one. In addition, just because a studio is smaller doesn’t mean the games it makes aren’t impressive. I’ve picked up some of my favorite new games, for free, from this platform, and most of them have been made by smaller studios (or as side-projects for teams from big studios).

Opening up the Oculus Quest 2 box was a little surreal, much like the scenes you’re about to experience after following this guide!

Before you can power on the headset and get going, there are a few steps you need to take.

1. Pull the tabs from the touch controllers. They will take a good yank to get out, but this will allow the batteries to connect internally and power on the touch controllers.
2. Remove the film cover from the lens. Savor the peelies!
3. (Optional) Add the silicone cover to the headset. After spending some time with the headset on, I found that I needed the extra support to stop it from sliding around.
4. (Optional) Attach the glasses spacer. For those who need it, follow this guide to attaching the glasses spacer to the Oculus Quest 2.

After all this, you’re finally ready to move on!

Press the button on the right side of the headset for 2 seconds. You’ll know the power is on either by looking through the lens or a light on the outside of the headset.

When putting on the Quest 2 headset, make sure it’s secure and comfortable for you. Use the horizontal adjustment straps to tighten the headset around your heat. I recommend adjusting the top strap after you’ve turned on the device, so you can make sure you’re getting the clearest view.

Adjustment took a bit to get to my liking, so don’t rush through this step. My own impatience had me adjusting while doing the setup, which was just a hassle. So make sure to take the time to do this properly.

Whether it’s prompted on the screen or not, adjust the lens within the headset to your preference. They move at the same time, so push together or pull apart until the screen is clear for your eyes.

• Connect to Wi-Fi

You are required to download the Oculus app on your phone before continuing on. It’s available for both Android and Apple phones, and it will require you to login with your Facebook account. As stated earlier, you cannot use the Quest 2 without a Facebook account.

You’ll be instructed on how to set up Guardian, the tool that enables a virtual boundary around you for safe play!

During this step, you will use the touch controller to draw your boundary, which is great for those who have limited or a very specific area they want to play in. Once Guardian is activated, you’ll see plus signs appear around you, signifying your play area.

The Quest 2 also has passthrough alert, which alerts you when you’re too close to the edge or step outside the play zone. This can take some getting used to, but it’s the best tool I could imagine for a virtual reality headset!

The first UI you’ll see when you’re finally through setup is the toolbar. This is where the important information about the Quest 2 and your navigation will exist.
