The MagSafe feature for the iPhone 12 is still so new that there relatively few accessories available that support it. That’s okay. We’re looking forward to seeing all the cool accessories that product designers are going to come up with for the new iPhone 12’s MagSafe backing.

Until then, there are still some great options for MagSafe accessories that you can buy right now that will help you make that brand new iPhone 12 your own!

We’re starting with the first and most important accessory you’ll want to pick up for your new iPhone 12—the official Apple MagSafe Charger! Apple has been trying to figure out a way to reduce the damage done to your phone through constant plugging in/out of the charger. Well, they think they may have finally found it.

Why You Need It

The iPhone 12 is the first time that Apple is not bundling a charger with the iPhone itself. They claim this is to reduce electronics waste, which sounds noble enough. But that means you’ll have to purchase your charger separately. If you want to make sure of the newest MagSafe technology in the iPhone 12, then you’ll want one of these chargers for sure.

For years I’ve been trying to cut down on the size of my wallet. I’m tired of having a big bulky thing with me in my pocket all the time! Now’s the time to condense what I’m carrying into a few select cards in this great leather MagSafe wallet from Apple.

Why You Need It

It turns your iPhone into the only thing you need to carry around with you. The idea of technology and Apple’s ongoing philosophy is that technology should both supplement your life but also make it easier. That’s the design principle behind this Apple MagSafe Wallet. It also just looks really great and can be customized for a nice-looking color combination. A definitely essential MagSafe accessory!

Why you need it

Do we really need to tell you why you need a case for your ~$1,000 investment? You’ve been buying cases for your iPhone way before Apple released the MagSafe versions. With the new MagSafe accessories, cases are actually going to feel different.

  • For one, with this MagSafe case, you can easily snap on and snap off the case. (Remember how hard it was to get that darned case off!)
  • We like the leather version for both its safety and look with the new leather wallets.

There are other official Apple cases to check out, as well:

This is the latest car vent mount made specifically for the new MagSafe iPhone 12s. It combines the strength of the magnets with a MagSafe accessory with the convenience of having your phone handy in your car.

Why you need it

What’s your phone situation right now in your car? Is your phone fumbling around in some cup holder, sometimes falling down to the floor, or making you unsafely reach across the seat to find it? Yeah…that’s why you should have a nice, easy to use setup like a MagSafe accessory attached to your car vent.

Will it block my airflow?

Sure. A little. But overall, you shouldn’t notice much of a difference. And remember…safety first!

Moonlight is an open-source platform built on Nvidia’s GameStream protocol. It allows you to stream PC games to remote devices, including the Raspberry Pi Zero.

How it works

The handheld is built using a 5.5″ Waveshare AMOLED screen, which has a 1080 x 1920 resolution and toughened glass touch panel, connected directly to the Pi Zero. A 5 GHz WiFi dongle provides the support necessary to pull off a seamless streaming experience. A TeensyLC board helps handle the various inputs. There is no speaker, audio is handled using a 3.5mm jack on the Waveshare screen. It’s powered with a 2500 Mah battery and, according to Tombston, lasted 2.5 – 3 hours when testing.

The streaming is handled using Moonlight, the open-source Nvidia GameStream software mentioned before. Put together, this rig can stream in 720 as well as 1080 with an FPS of 60, although at a reduced bitrate.

You can check out the full post on Reddit where Tombston details more specifics about the project—including hardware used in the construction. In the post, Tombston mentions this project was the first they’ve tackled of this magnitude having never even soldered before. Well done, Tombston! We think this project is awesome and your hard work shows.

Most Apple users don’t know that the Mac keeps a record of every file that you’ve ever downloaded. Here’s how to view the record, delete it, and disable the feature entirely. Note: files downloaded when using Google Chrome’s Incognito Mode are not added to this list.

Starting out with Microsoft Teams can be tricky if you’re unfamiliar with the tool. Thankfully, it’s cross-compatible with a number of devices, making it much easier to get started. You can use whatever device is most convenient to you, ranging from PC to tablet, including Apple devices.

What is Teams?

Microsoft Teams is designed to centralize instant messaging and file sharing across the Office 365 platform. It provides tools to create and manage teams, assign permissions, and organize projects. Teams integrates Office applications like Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and more.

How do I use Teams?

With Teams, you can chat with coworkers, upload files and documents, and choose who can access what. You can create multiple teams for different projects to help organize workflow. Teams can synchronize with apps like Outlook to import meetings and more, keeping everything you need in one place and one window.

Prusa Research makes hand sanitizer to meet marketing demandPrusa Research makes hand sanitizer to meet marketing demand

With the entire globe in a state of panic over Coronavirus, markets have seen an increase in demand for two products in particular: toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Given that Coronavirus has no known effect on your digestive system, the demand for toilet paper makes little sense. More obvious is the increase in demand for hand sanitizer, and many stores across the world are completely sold out.

In some cases, store owners have wised up and increased the price of hand sanitizer to as high as $50 a bottle. At first it may seem cruel to try to profit off of unusual market conditions, but according to the laws of market economics, it might be exactly what the world needs. In one sense, prices are a signal. When the price of a good increases dramatically due to increased demand, this can lead to big profits. And when manufacturers other other goods see these profits, there is incentive to start producing more of the good in demand.

And that’s exactly what happened when 3D printer manufacturer, Prusa Research, retooled its factory to start producing hand sanitizer. In this crisis, the demand for 3D printers has surely declined, while the demand for hand sanitizer has increased. So Prusa was wise to convert some of their equipment from making 3D printers and filament, to making hand sanitizer.

Prusa Tweet

At the moment, there is no evidence that they’re selling their hand sanitizer at scale yet, but they’ve started by using it in their facility and giving it to their employees to use at home. Hopefully, they’re able to help meet the increase in demand, and hopefully other companies will follow suit.

The secret to a perfect cup is a proper grind.

Why concern yourself with the grind of your coffee? The grind of your coffee beans (and its exposure to water) has the greatest impact on the flavor of your coffee.

We’re going to show you how to officially change your address with the United States Postal Service. And, as a bonus, we’ll even show you how to begin to establish residency at your new address.

Each state has its own requirements for establishing residency, but there are some things that work across the board. Many of those you’ll want to make sure you do anyway. Make sure to save your documention when doing the following residency-establishing actions:

  • Complete the Change of Address mentioned in this guide.
  • Change over your utilities (definitely save any bills you receive at your new address with your name on them).
  • Get a new driver’s license with a new address.
  • Complete a “Declaration of Domicile” if your state requires one.
