Navigate to Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

Carefully run the following commands; this will remove Android Studio and its related preferences and library files. This is the best way to completely uninstall Android Studio and prep it for reinstallation, if desired.

Delete Mac Android Studio itself:

rm -Rf /Applications/Android Studio.app rm -Rf ~/Library/Preferences/AndroidStudio* rm -Rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.google.android.* rm -Rf ~/Library/Preferences/com.android.* rm -Rf ~/Library/Application Support/AndroidStudio* rm -Rf ~/Library/Logs/AndroidStudio* rm -Rf ~/Library/Caches/AndroidStudio* rm -Rf ~/.AndroidStudio*

Delete all Android Studio projects (optional):

rm -Rf ~/AndroidStudioProjects

Delete Gradle files/cache:

rm -Rf ~/.android

Delete SDK tools:

rm -Rf ~/Library/Android*

That’s it. You’re done!

Fill your tank up fully with fresh water.

Add a fresh Nespresso pod to the mix and close the machine.

To do this, press either of the top buttons once to turn the machine on. They will begin to flash. After they stop flashing, the machine is preheated.

Choose which coffee size you’d like to calibrate first (espresso or lungo). I started with espresso.

Hold down the espresso button and continue to hold it until the desired level of coffee is in your cup. Then, release the button. After releasing it, your Nespresso machine is programmed to dispense that same level of coffee!

Repeat with the other button for the other size coffee.

Now you have the perfect strength and volume.

Every bicycle tire has a 5 digit number printed/embossed along its sidewall. This number, called the ISO number, is essential to purchasing the correct size of tube.

The format of the ISO number is as follows: XX-YYY For example, a common tire size for road tires is 25-622 (700C x 25)

XX will refer to the WIDTH of the tire in mm. YYY will refer to the OUTSIDE DIAMETER of the tire

While the cycling industry has adopted certain nomenclature for sizing of tire (29er, 700C, 650B), the ISO number is the sure-fire way to get the correct size every time.

Make sure to match the valve type as well: Presta and Schrader Valves are typically not interchangeable.

Remove the wheel from the frame. You may need to disengage your brakes to allow the wheel to slide out of the frame’s dropouts (wheel holders).

Depending on your standard of wheel mount, the process is as follows:

Quick Release Lever – Release the quick release lever by pulling the tab of the lever towards you. Once the lever is the open position, hold the opposite side and loosen the skewer by turning the lever anti-clockwise. Be careful not to lose the two springs on the skewer! They are important.

Bolt on Axle – Again turning anti-clockwise, use an appropriate sized wrench (usually 14 or 15mm, adjustable will do in a pinch) to loosen the axle nuts of the wheel.

Thru-Axle – Consult the manufacturer for best practices. Can commonly be turned anti clockwise to loosen. You will need to remove entire internal thru-axle for wheel release.

If this is the rear wheel, be sure to shift to the smallest cog. It will make dealing with the chain easier.

Identify the Valve type:

Presta: After remving plastic top cap, turn threaded barrel end anti-clockwise. Depress pin to allow pressured air to escape from the valve.

Schrader: Remove plastic top cap. Using a small rigid tool, depress the internal pin of the valve to allow pressured air to escape.

Grab your tire levers. Those little plastic spoon things, yes.

Beginning at the farthest spot from the valve, use the first lever to get underneath the bead of the tire. After getting all the way underneath, use the spoke holder notches of the lever to brace it against an inline spoke.

Use the second lever to “scoop” underneath the first, and rotate it under the entire the outer bead to separate it from the rim. This should be a relatively smooth process.

Repeat for the other bead.

With the tire completed removed from the rim, remove the inner tube. Using a bicycle pump, lightly pump the defeated tube until it has shape. As you pump: look, feel, and listen to determine where the tube is failing. Often times, it can be difficult to find the hole in a defeated tube. Inflate the tube, then submerge it in water to find the leak quickly.

Once the leak has been found in the tube, try to match it to the tire. Examine the outside of the tire for seperation, cuts, glass, staples, or anything that looks irregular. Check the inside of the tire by LIGHTLY running your fingers along the inside. Take care, there could be sharp things stuck through the tread.

After ensuring that no pointy things remain in the tire, remove the new tube from its packaging and inflate it just enough to give it shape. Remove the plastic top and threaded ring (presta only).

Away from the wheel, allow the tube to sit inside both beads of the tire. Adjust the valve of the tire to be centered on a chosen logo for ease of reference.

Reference the sidewall of the tire to ensure proper direction of rotation. Place the valve within the rim hole, and lightly thread on the threaded ring and plastic top.

Ensure that the valve is seated straight through the hole of the rim. Using primarily your thumbs, roll the outer bead of the tire until it sits nicely on the rim.

Take care not to twist or pinch the tube.

With the far bead seated, continue to use your thumbs to roll the tire into position, Once pulled into the center of the rim, begin seating the bead of the tire at the valve, rolling away from the valve. The bead may be super tight, especially near the end of the process.

Take care! This is where many people pinch or pop their tubes. Although the bead may seem super tight, it may be relaxed by rolling the bead away from the valve. Once complete, most tires will have a noticeable ‘pop’ or ‘snap’ once the bead has been seated.

Once both beads are seated, Remove the plastic cap, attach the pump to the valve and lightly pump the tire to 10 psi, checking as you go. As you pump, ensure that the tire looks equal on all sides, and that no bulges exist. Most tires also have a visible bead line indicator, which should be just above the rim on a properly seated tire.

After pumping to 10 psi, if some bulges or irregularities show, deflate the tire and try again.

If you are happy with the result, inflate to 20 psi and check again for bulges or irregularities.

Now, pump it up to your preferred pressure. Close the valve and replace the plastic cap.

Do the reverse of Step 2. Use the weight of the bike to help center the wheel in the dropouts.

Make sure that your wheel mounting hardware is secure and safe to ride. Reconnect the brakes if necessary.

For rear wheels, ensure that the chain is on the rear cogs before slotting it into the dropout and wrenching it down.

Roll the wheels through the frame. Make sure that the brakes operate the same, and nothing is rubbing or making unusual noises. If some issues come up, check the alignment of the wheel within the frame, and ensure that the wheels are tightly secured.

If this seems out of reach, visit your local bike shop or Co-Op and ask them to show you what went wrong.

Using Samba—a software suite built into RetroPie—you can send files to RetroPie over a network. First, make sure that your Raspberry Pi and computer with ROMs are on the same network.

On the same computer that has your ROMs, hold down the Windows key and press R. In the Run dialogue, enter the following:

RETROPIE 

Alternatively, you can replace RETROPIE with an IP address like this:

127.0.0.1 

Press Enter or click OK. This will open a window with folders you can move content into and out of.

ROMs need to go in the ~/RetroPie/roms/ folder. You will need to sort them by console/OS for RetroPie to launch them properly. For example, SNES games would go in the ~/RetroPie/roms/SNES folder.

Samba is built into RetroPie, it lets us add and remove content for RetroPie over the network. Make sure your Pi and computer with ROMs are on the same network.

Access the computer with your ROMs and open the Finder tool on macOS.

Browse to Network > retropie > roms

This will open the RetroPie ROMs directory on your Pi. Now you can drag and drop files directly to RetroPie. You will need to sort ROMs by console and OS. For example, you should put NES games in the ~/RetroPie/roms/NES folder.

It’s also possible to transfer ROMs using a USB flash drive. Make sure it’s formatted to FAT32 to work with RetroPie.

First, connect the flash drive to your computer and create a folder named retropie on the drive.

Unplug the flash drive from your computer and connect it to the Raspberry Pi. The Pi needs to be on for this step. You will see a flashing light on the drive when it’s connected.

When the flash drive LED stops blinking, remove it from the Raspberry Pi and connect it to your computer again. Now you can add ROMs to the flash drive. Sort the ROMs into the appropriate folder for each console or system.

After the ROMs have been loaded, plug the flash drive back into the Pi. Wait for the LED to stop blinking and remove the flash drive from the Pi. You may need to relaunch RetroPie or reboot the Pi altogether to locate the new ROMs.

It’s really easy to transfer ROMs to RetroPie directly using an FTP setup.

First, we need to enable SSH. Visit our guide on how to enable SSH on the Raspberry Pi and come right back.

There are many FTP programs available for Windows 10. My personal favorite is WinSCP. It has everything we need and also comes recommended by the RetroPie devs on Github.

Open WinSCP (or your FTP client of choice) and enter the IP address of your Raspberry Pi. You can choose SFTP or enter port 22 if needed. The default username and password is:

Username: pi Password: raspberry 

WinSCP will load the complete directory for your Raspberry Pi. From here, navigate to the appropriate folder for each console or system you want to add ROMs to. You can typically find this under a path similar to ~/RetroPie/roms/*[console folder]*.

Drag and drop your ROM files directly to the Pi.

ROMs can be transferred to RetroPie directly using FTP.

First things first—we need to enable SSH. Check out our guide on how to enable SSH on the Raspberry Pi real quick. I’ll wait.

There are many different FTP applications supported by macOS. Cyberduck is officially recommended by the Github devs and will work perfectly for us.

Launch Cyberduck (or your preferred FTP client) and enter the IP address for your Pi. You can specify port 22, if necessary. The default username and password is:

Username: pi Password: raspberry 

Once logged in, you can navigate the Raspberry Pi directory from your computer. We’re looking for a specific folder to load our ROMs into. It’s usually similar to this path: ~/RetroPie/roms/*[console folder]*

From here, you can drag and drop ROMs directly to RetroPie! Be sure to sort the ROMs into the correct console or system folder.
